I’ve been thinking a lot about Destiel, since one of my friends said that she can just as easily ship Cas with Sam, since the three of them are the only characters that appear in every episode. She has a good point, but then I realised, the reason we ship Destiel more than Sastiel (nothing wrong with that btw) is because the way the show is written/edited/filmed makes everything to do with Cas connected to DEAN.

As a dramatic irony and punishment for Castiel. Michael strips Castiel’s powers/grace and sends him to the same place in hell where Dean was bound and tortured.
Why would you do this to me?
Because it’s beautiful. No one can fly down and rescue him (no friendly angels at the minute and no allies in hell). If Dean can’t wrest the power from Michael, then Castiel will be consigned to the same fate that he saved Dean from.
Temporarily.
A trade off of fates. A good deed not gone unpunished.
When Castiel first laid a hand on you in Hell, he was lost.
Can you imagine when Dean comes around? Him being unable to save Castiel from the same fate he was raised from? And worse, he caused it?
