Dean’s hands are shaking so badly that he spills his water on
the table, ruining the appetizer and soaking his own jeans through.
“Fuck,” he hisses as he grabs a napkin and tries to dry off the
table. “I’m such a fucking klutz—”
“Dean.” With a single touch, the water’s gone, the table and his
jeans are dry, and the food looks perfectly fine. “Relax.”
That’s the thing though. He can’t relax. This isn’t just
him and Cas out to grab burgers during a case. This is him and Cas on a date
at an actual, honest to god restaurant that doesn’t even have a bar you can sit
at. While it’s not exactly classy, it’s steps above every place Dean’s ever
taken Cas before. He even made sure to wear his nice shirt without the holes or
questionable stains.
“We’ve done this a dozen times before,” Cas points out, as
though he can read Dean’s mind. “I don’t understand why you’re so nervous.”
“You don’t understand—Cas,” he whines. “Yes, we’ve gotten
burgers together, but we’ve never done this before.”
He motions between them like it’s obviously different. Cas
raises an eyebrow, not at all convinced, and Dean resigns himself to spelling
it out.
“We’ve on a date,” he whispers, leaning over the table so
no one else can hear. Like it’s some big secret that the two guys sitting with
their thighs pressed together under the table are here on a date. “That’s not…
we’ve never… it’s completely different.”
Cas’ expression goes solemn. “You’re absolutely right.” Then he
reaches out across the table to grab Dean’s hand in his, slotting their fingers
together perfectly. “It is different, because now I’m allowed to do
this.”
His cheeks heat up and he looks away. That was… that was too
damn cute, honestly, and Dean’s still wrapping his head around admitting that
he cares about Cas beyond friendship, never mind finding him cute. Sexy,
sure, but cute?
Fuck is he gone on Cas.
“So,” Cas continues, eating nachos with his free hand but
resolutely keeping the other hand wrapped around Dean’s, “if this is what
different means, I’ll happily accept the change.”
“Never knew you were such a softie,” he mumbles. Which is a
complete lie; he remembers ever look, touch, word Cas has ever spared him, and
for years now they’ve made it abundantly clear that when it comes to Dean, Cas
is most definitely a softie.
“If being a ‘softie’ means I get to hold your hand and later
that I’ll get to hold you as we watch a movie, and that I’ll be allowed to kiss
you goodnight before you fall asleep, then I believe that is the best title I
could ever hope to have.”
Dean knows if he says anything right now, it’ll be incoherent
nonsense. Wisely, he opts to kiss the back of Cas’ hand.
Dating
Cas, it’s definitely not how things were between them. As the night goes on,
though, Dean slowly acknowledges that they’re not worse; they’re so so
much better.
misha at jib (pics by galain, isabell, mandi lea, somer)
since don’t know if anyone filmed the panel bcs of the whole not filming rumour, which didn’t stand, since yoy can film, just must follow the rules some saturday panels tweets (by bubbs, chloe, jenn, maisie, seda)
btw apparently a well known j1stan/j2shipper(bronly) desided to show up at jib so keep an eye out & either inform jensen & misha abt who she is or their bodyguards (in case she tries something either at ops as did in the past, or the jm panel tomorrow), nutjobs like that need to be excluded from conventions not allowed in like nothing happen
I was afraid the accent had, indeed, been Misha’s decision lol, but I forgive him. He saw the choice they made for his clothes and hair, so I’m sure he just rolled with it.
Oh, honey! Cas didn’t steal AU!Cas’ grace because his endgame is not angel-related. That’s not what he wants at all (but of course Misha wouldn’t say that even if he suspected it).
“I partly think it’s a choice of the actor to be ageing” LMAO XD
