misha: So @tumblr just officially banned “adult content” including something called, “female-presenting nipples.” I can only assume my nipples will now sadly be banned there. But hopefully @twitter and @instagram will let them stand.
I don’t think so @gneisscastiel, we can search for them. Either way , as you know, a very prominent feature of Misha are his thighs… A little bit up than ankles but it can do the trick. 😉
Ankle porn is all Jensen…they’re so dainty!! Calves and thighs, though, that’s Misha. Sadly Tumblr dictates that I can’t go any higher than that. 😉
These new set of Tumblr rules were of course exactly what we all wanted for Christmas (not).
Tumblr is flagging not-safe-for-work art pieces, due to be removed December 17. However, we are finding that even artwork that complies with their restrictions is being flagged. We’ve seen art of Cas playing with children that has been flagged, due to its beige colour scheme. As you can tell, Tumblr’s filters are not capable of doing the job that they claim will make Tumblr a safe space. We are less than happy about this, but we’re going to do our best to keep our collection of artwork intact. The admins are working on backups of everything right now, including our collection of nsfw artwork (by the way, we have a collection of nsfw artwork, and we were hoping to create a nsfw version of theroadsofararchive, but that will have to be reviewed now as we wait to see how Tumblr deals with this problem!).
It’s breaking our hearts how much this is already affecting the community (there are artists who are deleting their work!). The sad fact is that we can’t simply export everything to another platform because of copyright. No matter what, we will be privately preserving what art we have. We don’t want to lose this last decade of fandom history and creativity forever.
Nothing is going to happen to this archive. We will not be deleting or abandoning our site. However, we will be looking into creating another supplementary archive on Pillowfort, as they have stated publicly that they are invested in allowing fandom to flourish, which includes nsfw artwork. We encourage anyone who makes the choice to migrate their artwork to Pillowfort to contact us so that we can start building up the art community there.
We would also like to remind you that we are on twitter at @trsfarchive, if you are migrating over there instead. Again, we encourage you to contact us so we can preserve and build up the art community as much as possible.
