Sam has been dragged off by vamps and Cas is rushing after him without hesitation (because Cas loves Sam in his own right too).

What I expected: Cas will smite the fuck out of all those vamps and bring Sam back to TFW. He is a killing machine and he won’t stop until Sam is safe.

What happened: Cas disappears into a tunnel for about 45 seconds and returns to report that Sam is past saving.

yeah definitely weird

i thought it was odd too because Cas is like ‘there’s no time’ so they continue to the camp and 4 seconds later Dean’s like ‘i’m going back for his body’ … but this will just take longer now when they could’ve done it initially????
